Whilst you may wish it wasn’t so, the skin around your eye area will most likely be the first place to show signs of premature ageing and sun damage, making you look tired and older. I found this true for me more so after having children, maybe this was because I simultaneously hit my 30’s or possibly down to experiencing disturbed sleep patterns for the first time in my life.
The skin around the eyes is 10 times thinner than anywhere else on the face, and we also use the muscles around the eyes a lot when talking and expressing ourselves so the constant movement attributes to the lines and wrinkles.
The thin skin is the reason why the eyes are usually the first place to experience a build up of vitamin A outside the cell wall resulting in negative response. Genetics play a major role as does ethnicity but we do have some very effective treatments that will certainly help.
Eye Cream
When treating the eye area we need lightweight active ingredients that will heighten collagen and elastic while also inhibit pigmentation which can add to shadowing in the eye area. Environ youth essentials eye gel has all of the above. This formulation had a glow up 18 months ago.

I also love mesoesthetic repairing stick SPF 100 for localised protection. Perfect for the delicate area around the eyes as well as moles and wounds.
Vitamin A:
In terms of skincare retinoids have the best evidence for enhanced collagen levels. They also improve pigmentation. So as you climb the ladder and increase the dosage of Vit A in your topicals, make sure to carry this over the eye area too.
Cryoglobes:
Cryotherapy is brilliant for dark circles & puffy eyes.

Heavy make-up can accentuate under-eye wrinkles
I am a huge fan of active light concealer from Jane Irdale. With cucumber and white tea extract it will calm and sooth tired, puffy eyes. Stand by for a new under eye concealer about to drop in. The coming weeks too

It’s not an urban legend, falling short on your Zzzz’s can cause circles and puffiness around the eyes to become more prominent. Over sleeping extreme fatigue, or just staying up a few hours past your normal bedtime can cause dark circles to form under your eyes.
